Celebrate America’s spirit this summer at Freedom Fest 2026 on Thursday, July 2, from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Risner Back Lot. One of Kadena’s premier annual events, Freedom Fest delivers an action-packed evening of live entertainment, family-friendly activities, great food and a spectacular fireworks finale honoring the nation’s enduring strength, freedom and pride.

Guests can enjoy performances throughout the night, including live DJ Stitch, a fire dancer and Haribow Double Dutch performances. Roaming entertainment, including FSS mascots and balloon and bubble artists, that will keep the energy going across the festival grounds.

Thrill-seekers and families alike can explore a wide variety of attractions and activities. Ryukyu Pro Wrestlers will bring the action to the stage with three live matches, while Kiddie Land offers fun for younger guests with a train ride, mini jet ride, swings, inflatables and carnival-style game vendors. Additional attractions include crazy karts, a photo booth, garden games, glow-in-the-dark bucket golf and an interactive water zone featuring water balloons, water guns and sprinklers.

Gaming fans can head to the Esports Mega Screen for rounds of Mario Kart and Guitar Hero, while those looking for a relaxing summer treat can stop by the free s’mores station.

Shoppers will also have the opportunity to browse products and handcrafted items from 18 marketplace vendors.

Food will be a major highlight of the evening, with 17 food trucks and 16 private organization food booths serving a wide variety of festival favorites and local flavors. Drink and Dash service will also be available on-site for added convenience.

The evening culminates with a fireworks spectacular from 8:50 to 9 p.m., illuminating the Okinawa sky in celebration of America’s 250th birthday and a legacy of freedom, strength and resilience.
