Group Exercise Class Descriptions
Buttz & Gutz & Bodyweight
A class dedicated to targeting abs, glutes, quads, and hamstrings with total body movement exercises. Classes will focus on core strengthening to build muscle suitability and endurance.
A form of body conditioning or resistance training using high-intensity aerobics. It targets strength building and muscular endurance. An exercise “circuit” is one completion of all prescribed exercises in the program. When one circuit is complete, one begins the first exercise again for the next circuit. Traditionally, the time between exercises in circuit training is short, often rapid movement to the next exercise. This class is geared to all fitness levels.
High-intensity interval training that’s a full-body workout combing cardio, strength, and core using various modalities to keep you on your toes and push participants to the limit feeling strong. The classes rigorous training sequence will improve cardiovascular fitness while improving muscular strength and endurance.
FIP (Fitness Improvement Program)
Class primarily targets participants that scored Unsatisfactory on their Air Force Fitness Assessment
(PT Test); and focuses on cardiovascular and strength exercises to aid in bringing participants back to Satisfactory/Excellent standards.
Open to all, however members command directed to attend FIP will have FIRST PRIORITY. Classes will be capped at 35 with priority going to those who scored unsatisfactory.
Group Cycling is a unique program based on the outdoor cycling methods of competitive cyclists. This class incorporates various resistances (gears) with the appropriate RPMs for maximum rider efficiency and safety.
Participants will learn the proper techniques necessary to experience higher VO2 levels for increased cardiovascular performance and greater caloric expenditure. First timers need to allow a little extra time for orientation and proper bike set up. This class truly is geared to all fitness levels. Bring water!
Mixed Fit is a people-inspired fitness program that is a mix of explosive dancing and boot camp toning. Everything about our dance fitness program can be described as explosive – all the movements are always big, exaggerated, full-out you best. Traditional Mixed Fit class is 60 minutes in length, the choreography is not complex and difficult. The steps are repetitive and very easy to follow.
Exercises focused on posture, stretching, and promotion of physical and spiritual well-being. This class is geared to all fitness levels.
A slow-paced style of yoga with postures. Yin yoga class usually consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body – the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, and lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues.
An aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance and performed primarily to Latin American dance music. This class is geared to all fitness levels.
• All classes contain segments of abdominal and other toning exercises when time permits. Please
inform instructors of pregnancy or any physical limitations so they can assist you.
• Classes are programmed according to the demand of customers, availability of instructors, and
• No classes will be held on Federal Holidays and PACAF Family Days.
• All classes will be cancelled in the event we reach Typhoon Condition 1 (TCCOR-1).
• Classes will resume when we are in TCCOR All Clear.

Exercising is important for maintaining physical fitness and can contribute positively to a healthy weight, building and maintaining healthy bone density, muscle strength, joint mobility, promoting physiological well-being, and strengthening the immune system. Our highly qualified personal trainers at the Risner Fitness Center are professionals who educate people about physical fitness.

What you will need:
• Download and complete NAF Application Download
• Must obtain and maintain current CPR certification, First Aid, and liability insurance throughout the contracted period.
• Provide Personal training certification and continuing education units completed.
Required to do a background check (applies to service rendered to individuals under 18 yrs old)
All documents must be taken to the Risner Fitness Center after completion.
Contracted Personal Trainers under NAF Individual Service Contracts are allowed to use Risner Fitness Center for training paid customers. Certified personal trainers without contracts with the Air Force may use the facility, but will not train or charge customers a fee-for-service IAW AFI 34-266.
• 1/2 hour session (approx. 20 min on table)

Before you schedule your appointment, please note:
• Appointments must be made in person
• All session times include consult, undress, massage, redress, and feedback.
• Please arrive with sufficient time to collect the blue receipt, use the restroom, and fill out the client intake
form before your scheduled appointment time (normally 10-15 mins)
Styles of Massage
Each therapist has received professional training in different massage specialties.
Releases the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the grain of muscles, tendons, and fascia. It is called deep tissue because it also focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue.
Massage based around a system of points in the hands and feet thought to correspond, or “reflex,” to all areas of the body.
Shiatsu and Acupressure
Oriental-based systems of finger pressure which treat special points along acupuncture “meridians” (the invisible channels of
energy flow in the body).
A system of long strokes, kneading and friction techniques
on the more superficial layers of the muscles, combined with active and passive movements of the joints.
Is used to help the mother-to-be with the psychological, emotional and physical changes that incur during the 9 months of pregnancy. It relaxes and tones muscles, improves skin tone and circulation, stimulates the Lymphatic System, and prepares the body for childbirth.
Is a form of deep tissue therapy that conveys the following benefits: speeding the healing of injuries and clearing bruises, stimulating blood circulation and regulating the nervous system, removing scar tissue, easing emotional distress, curing some conditions affecting the internal organs, increasing flexibility in the joints and improving posture, relieving chronic pain, maintaining wellness and functioning as a form of
preventive care, improving athletic performance, and strengthening the body’s resistance to disease.
Many meridians and reflex zones run through the face. When you affect points on the face, you are affecting deeper layers of complexity. Specific points reduce pain from TMJ, headaches and eye strain from computer fatigue.

Instructors are contracted under Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Individual Service Contract (ISC) unless under voluntary service, and are not employees of the Risner Fitness & Sports Complex. Instructors providing services to minors under the age of 18 years old must have an approved contract that specifically states such services can be provided to minors, and also have a certified Background Check completed. Please contact ISC contractors for more information regarding individual programs listed above.
